Hispano-Bretón
Registry Code: BRE
The Hispano-Bretón is a relatively rare Spanish breed obtained by crossing the PRE (Andalusian) with the French Breton draft/draught. These horses can be used as riding mounts or for farm work, and tend to look like a heavier (draft type) version of the PRE.
Since the Breton averages in height from 15.1 – 16.0 hh (155 – 163 cm), which is only slightly taller than the PRE averages of 15.0 – 15.2 hh (152 – 158 cm), there is very little difference in height between the PRE and the Hispano-Bretón.
Grey and Chestnut are the most common coat colours, though any solid colour (excluding champagne diluations) plus roan are acceptable.
