HUNTER DIVISIONS


*Each Division includes 2 over-fences & 1 Under-saddle class
*Horses may only enter TWO of the following Divisions, must be either same height or consecutive heights
 >> Hunter Under Saddle classes: The horse is judged "on the flat," meaning jumping is not involved. In show hunter classes, the horse's movement and manners are judged, with quality of movement paramount.
>> Over-fences classes: The horse is judged over a course of fences. In show hunter classes, particular attention is paid to the horse's jumping form, the fluidity of the course, and its take-off spot for each fence on the course. The judge also looks for correct leads in the turns or clean flying changes, good movement, and a calm ride.

GENERAL RULES

All-Sim Hunter Arena Shows are held over a three day period. Horses may enter into 2 Hunter Divisions (3 classes each) 1 Classic Class & Unlimited Hack & Breeding Classes. So for your Ponies, remember you can choose 1 Pony Hunter Division and then a Regular Hunter Division if you wish, or two regular Hunter Divisions. For the Ponies, please keep it realistic, I don't want to see any 11hh ponies competing in a 4' Division etc etc.

FLAT CLASSES

Hunter Hack
>> Hunter hack is a type of English pleasure class where exhibitors in Hunt seat tack and attire perform on the flat at a walk, trot, canter and hand gallop, and then jump two low fences. The desired horse in this competition is to resemble a quiet, well-mannered working hunter rather than the more animated American-style show hack.

Show Hack
>> In North American classes, the show hack is to show at extended, regular and collected versions of the walk, trot and canter, as well as performing a hand gallop, halt and the rein back. Particular emphasis is placed on gait transitions and obedience. While fluid, smooth gaits are always desired, a more dressage-like frame is favored.

Road Hack
>> Another variation on show hack is the Road Hack, a class seen in North American horse breed competition. The rules are similar to Show Hack, but a greater emphasis is placed on the extended gaits.
