The ASSHA is open to horses of the following breeds and outcrosses as defined below.
Champion - 20 pts
Reserve Champion - 15 pts
Top Ten - 10 pts
Champion - 15 pts
Reserve Champion - 10 pts
Top Ten - 5 pts
Champion [CH] - 300 pts
Regional Champion [RCH] - 450 pts
National Champion [NCH] - 600 pts
Universal Champion [UCH] - 750 pts
Hall of Champions [HOC] - 1000 pts
Hall of Fame [HOF] - 1500 pts
Hall of Legends [HOL] - 2000 pts
Any horse earning 75 or more points in one specific class will earn a Register of Merit award for that class. Horses are limited to one Register of Merit award per specific class. (Bob earns 120 points in Reining, Bob has now earned a Register of Merit award).
Any horse earning 150 or more points in one specific class will earn a Superior award for that class. Horses are limited to one Superior award per specific class. (Bob earns 250 points in Reining, Bob has now earned a Superior award).
A horse will earn a Performance Champion award when they earn 3 different Superior Awards. (Bob earns a Superior in Reining, Ranch Horse Pleasure and Cutting, Bob has now earned a Performance Champion award).
A horse will earn an All Around Champion award when they earn a Performance Champion award and 350 points or more in a collective discipline. (Bob earns a Performance Champion award and 350 points in Working Western disciplined events, Bob has now earned an All Around Champion).
A horse will earn a Versatility Champion award when they earn an All Around Champion award and 500 points or more in a collective discipline. (Bob earns a All Around Champion award and 500 points in Working Western disciplined events, Bob has now earned a Versatility Champion award).
A horse will earn a Horse of the Year Award for being the horse that earns the most points in a class at the end of the year. (Bob earns 100 points in Reining and George earns 95 points in Reining for the 2017 show season. Bob wins Horse of the Year and George wins Reserve Horse of the Year).
