About Natural Element ::
- 2006 Summer Horse of the Year (Juvenile Male) - $2,000,000 - 2006 Winter Horse of the Year (Juvenile Male) - $2,000,000 - 2007 Reserve Thoroughbred Race Horse of the Year - $300,000 Our most successful racehorse of all time! Natural Element had a wildly successful two year old season, culminated by his victory in the Breeders Cup Juvenile and the prestigious Trainers Cup Juvenile. He also claimed two Horse of the Year titles as a two year old in both the summer and winter HOTY voting. He went on to have great success in his three year old season, claiming wins in the Winter Race Series and Serendipity Derby, as well as running in the top three in all of the Triple Crown races. He was voted Reserve Horse of the Year as a three year old against older horses. With earnings of over 7.2 million on the track and an additional 4 million of HOTY bonuses, he is our leading money earner of all time. We retired Natural Element after his three year old season to begin his breeding career. Natural Element came to us in early 2006 from Maggie of the now inactive Eaglehill Farms. He was part of a multi-horse trade, along with Dubai World Cup winner Krisari Bay and Grade I winner Belle D'Storm. I traded my top stallion at the time, Storm's Away and two unproven stallions, Uncomplicated and Surprised You in return. No matter the price paid, this stallion was well worth it! When we got him, he was unstarted on the track but had a great pedigree. At first we thought he would be a good canidate to race for a while and then resell once he had a record. He broke his maiden on his first start, which got us thinking there might be more to this colt than met the eye. Then he went on to go 3-2-0 in his first 5 starts and we knew this colt wasn't going anywhere! His pedigree is full of many top Sim and real life horses, Wild Emblem was one of Maggie's top studs and goes back to one of her grea broodmares, Silent Sunday. On his dam's side, he carries such real life greats as Rahy. As an interesting aside, our broodmare Regal Catch is a full sister to Natural Element's dam. He is also related to real life Derby and Preakness winner War Emblem through his paternal grandsire Our Emblem. Natural Element is still a relatively young sire, with his oldest foals born in 2008. So far, he has produced several Grade I winners, including Wild Nature and Alottaelements from his first foal crop. We are looking forward to many more foals from this great young horse!
