Dole Gudbrandsdal

Also Known As: Dølahest, Dølehest (common misspelling), Dole, Dole Trotter, Norwegian Trotter

Likely a descendant of the Friesian horse with Thoroughbred and Arabian influence, the Dølahest is native to Norway and commonly used for farm work, harness racing and driving competitions. The Dole Gudbrandsdal, specifically, is the draught type, and played an important roll in the development of the Northswedish horse.

The ASNC asks that all trotter types (particularly if competing in harness racing is your goal) be registered as Norwegian Coldblood Trotters.
