Membership Guidelines

As a member of the ASNC, you agree to:

  • Follow all ASNC competition rules
  • Host no more than eight (8) member-hosted ASNC competitions per month
  • Never transfer the ownership of a horse that isn't registered to you, even if you are attempting to transfer a horse you have purchased to yourself.

Showing Guidelines

  • All horses must be at least 3 years of age to compete in ridden and driven classes, including harness racing classes
  • All horses must be at least 4 years of age to compete over fences and in endurance rides
  • All horses may enter any and all appropriate in-hand, suitability & prospect classes
  • All horses are limited to no more than 6 ridden & driven classes per show.
  • In addition to the limits above:
    • Icelandic Horses and Faroe Ponies will always be presented with breed-specific classes, no matter what division they register under. Icelandics that enter "Four Gaited" and Faroe Ponies that enter "Three Gaited" may only cross enter into tolt, pace/sprint and Faroe Liberty.
    • Harness racers may only enter 1 race, plus up to 2 optional Best Condition Award classes if desired.
    • Endurance horses may only enter 1 race, plus up to 2 additional classes (best condition, sporthorse under saddle)
  • Futurity classes are for horses aged 3 years
  • Junior Horse classes are for 3-7, or 4-7 where a futurity class is offered.
  • Senior Horse classes are for 8-10 if Prime Time is offered, or else 8+
  • Prime TIme Horse classes are for 11+
  • Gelding classes may have different age ranges due to the lower number of entrants (Junior from 3, Senior from 8, Prime Time from 13)
  • Dressage, Hunter and Jumper 3 year old prospects registered in the "Prospect" discipline division are welcome to cross-enter appropriate classes from the Pre-Amoeba eventing ridden prospect classes.
